The 8440-1715 is part of the Woodward SPM-D11 Series. This unit is a load share synchronizer. It is one of several SPM-D11 synchronizers available within the AX Control inventory.

The 8440-1715 is a microprocessor-based unit. It can be used for one- or three-phase AC generators. The synchronizer offers automatic frequency control and voltage and phase matching. It can use either discrete or analog output bias signals.

The 8440-1715 is Ul/cUL listed and CE marked. It can be configured using the unit’s front panel or it can be configured through a connected PC. Because of the unit’s microprocessor technology, it offers flexible and reliable operating options, including adjustable language (English or German,) control and breaker state indication, and synchroscope. The unit has a two-line LCD display on its front panel that allows the user to see alarm indication and operations locally. The unit also offers dead bus operation(the closing of a breaker on demand.)

The 8440-1715 uses a 12/24 VDC power supply. The unit’s dimensions are 144 mm x 72 mm x 122 mm. Connections are made by screw/plug terminals depending on the type of connector used.
