A wind turbine [1] is a type of turbine that uses wind energy as its power source. An aerospace research institution in Wellbrihan, Massachusetts, USA, has developed a wind turbine whose cost of generating electricity is only half that of conventional turbines.
The new design of the wind turbine produces electricity of the same quality as traditional wind turbines, but the diameter of its blades is only half that of the latter. The smaller blade size and other factors enable the new turbine to be more densely clustered on the same area of land as traditional turbines, thereby increasing the electricity output per acre of land.
